A little nonsense

I say: The phenomenal occurence that has currently concluded was quite the sensational show of musical adequence and technical ability.

He says: What did you do, eat a dictionary?

I say: I took in a few extra books and expanded my already extensive vocabulary.

He says: Oh, that explains it.
